Every item of sacred clothing we wear in the temple, from the robe to the apron to the veil, can be traced back to the clothing worn in the ancient temple of Jerusalem. In this inspiring booklet, popular speaker Kim Gibbs explains the rich symbolism associated with our temple clothes, why we wear them, and how they center on the Atonement of Jesus Christ.Sister Gibbs says, “Not only can our temple clothing change the way we feel about ourselves, but each item also teaches us something about our relationship with God.” As we come to understand the meaning of these sacred items of clothing, we can greatly enhance our temple worship and draw closer to our Savior.

This book is an easy read making it more accessible for those who don’t have the most patience for reading. The points are direct and clear. I am so happy I read this before going through the temple the first time.

Good simple ideas about what some important temple symbols may suggest. However, several of the symbols are outdated and could be confusing to people who are new to temple worship.

I purchased this after going through my initiatory. But reading through it helped make a lot of sense in retrospect. I am glad I purchased it so I can review it many times in the future.

Very well written. Clear and succinct, this is a great primer on the clothing worn in the temple. Wonderful principles and symbols are taught, and Sister Gibbs concludes each section summarizing the main points. I learned a lot by reading this, plus it encouraged me to spend time in reflection on these sacred symbols and be taught by the Spirit.

I loved this audio recording and the perspective it gave me on the clothing used in the temple ceremonies. I will gain more from my next experience in attending the temple. I would also recommend this book to people who do not attend the temple. It gives a clearer image and perspective on why we do what we do.

This is a basic and to the point introduction to the symbolism of the clothing we wear in the holy temple. I would recommend it to those who have only just started out on their first few temple visits. It is definitely not comprehensive as the author makes clear, but helps in getting the gears moving and thrusts us into “thinking mode” so we can discover more as we reflect on our temple clothing having the information contained in this book in the back of our minds. Well written. Great read.
