I have two pitbulls and their very active. I decided to try VetIQ Calming and it has been great. I give them each 2 – 3 treats a piece when they are in the house, they calm down within 10-15 minutes. So give them a try. I have been using them more than a year now but remember its effect will vary for different dogs.

These calming supplements have worked wonderfully for my dogs. They help reduce anxiety and restlessness, especially during stressful situations like thunderstorms or travel. The chews are easy to give, and my pets enjoy the taste. I’ve noticed a real improvement in their mood and overall behavior. This product provides gentle and effective support, and I would highly recommend it to other pet owners.

I bought these a few years ago figuring, ‘what do I have to lose?’ Our golden is terrified of thunderstorms, and fireworks. She’s also not doing very well with heavy rain and things like that. She was on Celeo gel, which is very expensive and is no good after Six or eight weeks. We threw away more than we were using and it wasn’t worth it. I find that if I give her one of these chews before the thunder really starts or if she hears it before me, I give her one right away. It takes about 10 minutes to have an effect on her, but she does settle quickly and will stop trying to climb in our lap. She usually just lies down ant my feet and will pant a little, but everything seems fine otherwise. We give her two if she really needs it and the storms are going to last a long time. That tends to make her more sleepy.
They do have an odor, it’s kind of an herby scent, but I give her the chew and wash my hands immediately after. We also keep the bag tightly sealed and then put it into a gallon Ziploc bag and seal that as well. They stay fresh for quite a while and have not caused any bad effects on our pup.
The doctor did say we could give her a medication like trazodone, but it takes more than an hour before it has an effect and many people just give it to their dog either on a regular basis or if there’s even a chance of storms. I don’t want to do that to my dog. These chews work perfectly for us and for our Sophie!

I think it worked well for my pitty’s separation anxiety while I’m at work. But after a few days his stomach was upset and seems nauseous and wouldn’t eat. No vomiting or diarrhea. Had to go to bland diet chicken and rice to calm his stomach. Also only gave half the dosage knowing he is sensitive to food. I was giving him trazadone but that made he too loopy. Trying natural supplements now. Also tried calm shen. Now trying solliquin. TBD

I have a very hyper, reactive rescue dog, and these chews did help—though only slightly. With regular use, I noticed a bit of a difference in his calmness. They’re not a complete solution, but they provide some support and are worth trying.

These work amazing and the dog loves them.

These work great! Have a 85lb tri color lab/retr .. she hates thunderstorms and fireworks. If I know ahead of time I give her these (3) for her weight.. and she sleeps straight through. Otherwise about a hour to kick in. She can still function fine, but she is chill. She enjoys the taste too!
I also use their multi-vitamin daily for her overall health. Very happy with this product line. Both are soft chews , and worth the money!

I definitely think this works! I give it to my very hyper puppy who barked everytime I put their in the cage to sleep since she can’t sleep with me because she chews on everything. But after giving her one of these at night very very minimal barking and went to sleep. And gave it to my Pitbull who if don’t let sleep with me will scratch at my door. She just goes to lay down until I get up.

These do not work at calming down my 2 year old Cockapoo at all. She has crate anxiety and when I check on her after the chews there is never any difference. She still barks and whines with so much angst. I give it 3 stars because she still eats them as a treat when she does have to go in the crate.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
This product works great! I bought them after I couldn’t find True Leaf Hemp Calming Chews 200g stopped being sold at my local pet store and Amazon in February, 2023. While at my local pet store in 2023 a kind store representative helped me find VetIQ calming chews. VetIQ’s calming chews had similar ingredients to the PetLeaf chews and does not have a long list of other ingredients that seem like fillers and not so good for dogs. I figured I would give them a try because my dog has very bad anxiety on car rides. While my dog doesn’t seem to be too relaxed in the car despite my best efforts both calming chews helped with less pacing and zoomies in the house. I have since bought VetIQ’s multi vitamin chews and their hip and joint chews. My dog loves the Smokey flavor of VetIQ products. If you are looking for a calming solution for your dog, I highly recommend these. I only give my dog two chews as they work really well. Conversely, giving the chews according to the package suggestions based on weight seems to make my 65 lb. dog a zombie/ pass out! I love my dog’s companionship and high energy, but sometimes she really just needs to chill!! 🤣🤣 She is like Velcro and is always in my business. I hope these work well for your dog like it does for my sweet little dog.

Great for gatherings with big groups. Holiday parties can be tough on the pups but these really calm my guy out. It has a lot of active ingredients and they all seem to work together to help my dog not get stressed.
Sky –
My dog goes crazy for these soft chews. They’re affordable, apparently delicious, and small enough to fit in your pocket. My anxious pup is usually all over the place, but these help him calm down. I didn’t realize how bad my dog needed these until I stopped using them. He is a totally different dog on the leash. I love these and they’re worth the 2 months.

A Game-Changer for Anxious Dogs!
These VetIQ Calming Chews are an absolute lifesaver! My dog used to get very anxious during thunderstorms and when left alone, but after just a few days on these treats, the difference has been incredible.
He’s so much more relaxed, sleeps better, and isn’t as jumpy or nervous. The best part? He LOVES the taste—no struggle to get him to take them like with other supplements.
If your dog deals with stress, separation anxiety, or loud noises, these calming chews are the best solution out there. Natural, effective, and pet-approved. Highly recommended!

These work well for my fur baby. However he does sometimes have strange effects if I give them to him late in the day. They are long lasting and calming. The smell weird but he loves to eat them.
kymom –
These really work well with my dog he’s a doodle and very hyper. I haven’t used them very often but around a lot of people I’ll give him one or two and it works good. He doesn’t jump. It calms him down and that’s perfect.

My dog is a nervous wreck during new years. This mellowed him out all evening, he was still shaky but, was definitely calmer than other years
Doreen S. –
Didn’t really work for my frenchie. He normally gets anxious at the vet so, I thought I’d try these. I didn’t see much of a difference in him being calm and he’s a pretty chill dog for the most part.
Lisa –
These were recommended to me by a friend to use during fireworks or nail trimming. I was hopeful that they would work, but both dogs are too dog gone smart and know it’s not a treat. These are the times I wish dogs could talk so I would know why they won’t take them. Of course I tried putting them in the “treat” jar, thinking and hoping they would fall for it, but no luck. Even wrapping in cheese didn’t help. So I gave the rest to my friend who swears by them. I don’t know why my dogs won’t touch them, they smell pretty good for a dog treat, but even this week at the vet they wouldn’t accept a dog treat from the vet. Guess they are smart not to take from strangers though. But like i said they both are picky. Not sure if that’s a curse or a blessing.

My dog has anxiety issues. This really helps him seem calmer.

These work great, But just a warning: If I give my 70lbs Pitbull more than 1/4th hes sleeping all day. It works very well, maybe too well. No side effects or anything. Just makes him tired.
Kaia –
I got these hoping they would work for my St. Bernard during more intense grooming sessions. I just adopted this big boy and he was really matted. I thought about shaving him down but it’s just too cold and I didn’t want to damage his coat so we did a lot of dematting and I got him FULLY brushed. Every knot is gone!! These worked BEAUTIFULLY! And surprisingly, he ate them like treats!!
Alvaro Calderon –
I am giving these treats a 3 start because they do work for my dog anxiety. He gets sleepy which is good when it’s needed. What I don’t like is the secondary effect the chews have when he wakes up. I don’t know if it’s some kind of allergy but his ears inside get inflamed and discharge smelly watery wax. His ears get so red and inflamed that he has ruptures and blood in the ear drums. I didn’t think it was the chews but I started noticing the pattern and yes this happens every time I’ve given him these treats which sadly now I have to stop.

These really work! My dog had been getting up in the middle of the night, whining for no reason. Started taking a few of these each evening and he has slept through the night! Bought them locally at the pet store and refilled with great pricing through Amazon!
