Vet recommended this brand. I’ve used their water vetradent and saw these as well. The water helped keep their teeth pearly white. Brushing your teeth with a tooth brush and paste (this brand has paste that I use as well) will definitely work better than any treat will because it’s the brushing motion that helps control tartar and plaque. Regardless, these are nice and do seem to help out my pups teeth a lot. I have 3 dogs and all 3 will take this treat which is very nice considering the senior is picky.

My Yorkie pretty much LIVES to receive her Veggiedent treat each day! When I pull out the bag, she starts running in circles with excitement, even though she’s usually a picky eater. She puts the treat between her paws and then gnaws on it.
When it’s time to do her yearly dental cleaning, my vet says her teeth usually just have a small amount of plaque. I do brush her teeth at least once a week, but I have trouble with getting in the back, so these treats help with controlling plaque in the hard-to-read areas.
Veggiedent treats are also plant-based and hypoallergenic, so they’re usually acceptable for dogs with allergies or sensitive stomachs. The treats also contain breath-freshening extracts, like pomegranate. Lastly, I try to get VOHC-accepted products for my dog, because VOHC is an independent organization that evaluates pet dental products for their effectiveness in plaque and tartar control.
The prices have gone up on this product, sadly, but my dog would honestly never forgive me if she didn’t get these each day, so I continue to buy them! If you need to for financial reasons, you could cut these in half or give them every other day.

These Virbac CET VEGGIEDENT FR3SH Tartar Control chews are absolutely awesome. I’ve tried so many dental sticks for my dog, but this is the only one she can have that doesn’t upset her stomach.

My vet recommended these for my 5 year old border collie as he had some tartar buildup on his back teeth. They are absolutely amazing! His breath smells nice and his teeth are visibly cleaner and whiter.
Our vet advised giving these daily is too much and recommended no more than 3 to 4 per week so I usually give them M, W, F and he just gets his regular chew sticks the other days.
Bear in mind that these contain prebiotics, which are a good thing for most dogs but could cause GI upset in dogs with underlying conditions. Also ensure you’re purchasing the correct size for your dog. It’s not just about weight but also your dog’s chewing habits! My 48 pound border collie gets medium but i wouldn’t ever have dreamed of giving my 50 pound pit mix a medium, she’d take one crunch and swallow it. Use common sense!

My dog had really bad buildup and we can’t afford to pay thousands of dollars at a vet, I was brushing his teeth everyday for like a month but didn’t really see a difference. I bought these dental treats and have been giving him 1 a day for the last 3 weeks and tonight I just noticed a huge piece of his buildup completely fell off one of his teeth. I included photos, the left side was taken April 17th and you can see how bad it was, the right photo was tonight. I am so happy that these actually work, my dog enjoys the taste too and loves them! I have purchased this item multiple times for my dogs. Previously I would have rated them 5 stars. I can’t say if it truly helps them or not, but they enjoy the chews and on the chance that it does help with keeping their teeth clean, I had planned to continue buying them. The last time I purchased a bag for my large dogs just about a month or so ago, the bag was about $35. I went to purchase them recently and the current cost – on multiple sites – was $52 or more. They seem to help with his back teeth at least staying somewhat cleaner. The size is pretty big and it’s easy to snap in half if needed, not super thick.

My dogs all love these. Better than a lot of dental chews on the market. They aren’t too soft, so the dogs didn’t eat them too quickly. Good thickness. Don’t have added colors that could be harmful to dogs. They seem effective for cleaning teeth as long as you use them consistently. I give my dogs a dental chew every day.

The size is perfect for him and the quantity is great for the price. They’re thick but not tough or hard, he finishes each treat with no issues. I recommend giving them a shot if your pup struggles with breath issues. It’s a plus that the ingredients aren’t harsh on my dog, he has many sensitivities and these don’t cause any flare ups.

My French Bulldog absolutely loves these chews. He gets excited the moment he sees the bag and happily works on one every day. The texture keeps him chewing for a while instead of swallowing it right away, which really helps with tartar buildup.

I switched to these chews because I was getting a dental powder through the vet that you sprinkle on their food.
The problem was, our dog doesn’t chew her kibble, so the powder was pointless.
I asked the vet to recommend something that she could chew. We had stopped buying all store bought treats (and she got quite a variety daily) because they had contributed to her becoming overweight and her dental health had become an issue.
She is 10 and doesn’t tolerate brushing her teeth ( totally our fault for not starting the brushing when she was a pup) so these chews were a complete game changer!
Our dog only weighs 11lbs. I break the chew in half. She gets half after her 2 meals a day.

Our veterinarian recommended this brand of chew treats for our dogs who have a tendency to develop a lot of plaque on their teeth requiring sedation in order to clean them. Our dogs absolutely love them and can’t wait for their daily treat. I have smaller dogs and instead of buying the small package for small dogs, I have begun purchasing the treats that are designed for larger dogs and then breaks them into smaller pieces.
