Wow, what a gorgeous deck! The cards are a perfect weight with nice rounded corners, and they have a slidey, whispery sound as they’re shuffled because of their matte finish. I love that sound! Also they just feel great in my hands. The edges need some care, like any matte finish card; even an accidental catching might pull up the colour to reveal a white edge. I’ve never figured out how to shuffle tarot, so my method is to twist the stack with my fingers outstretched like a witch, and allow it to fall to the table, swish them around gently, and then gather them up. Anyway, there’s no way I’d try properly shuffling these, haha. I would wreck the edges for sure.
The more I work with this deck, the more I love it! The creator’s re-interpretation of many of the cards away from a christocentric perspective is both welcome and, for me, has clarified the meanings in a very human and cosmic sense. I love the inclusion of alchemical and astrogical symbols.
The Judgement card as a rising Phoenix is beautiful! The decision to give Justice clear sight directed at the scales, and including the Egyptian tradition of weighing the heart against a feather is so clarifying and satisfying as a reader. Strength standing at ease with two wolves is a fabulous assertion. I’m still not sure how I feel about the Sun card, or the Wheel of Fortune. I’m not sure of how to feel about a grounded wheel, but like all of the others, it is lovely to look at and work with still.
The nine and ten of swords make their meanings relatable in a different way than RWS. Many of the swords cards illustrate the swords in a different orientation than RWS, though many are similar. The decision to only bloody the figure with one of the ten swords while the rest are threatening to come down is interesting. The nine is also aimed at the figure, unlike RWS.
The whole deck is dark in colour tone, and it gives it a feeling. It also means I need more light to see the details and shadows where many details are hiding. The colour palette is harmonious, symbolically relevant, and relaxing, easy to look at and pleasant in any lighting.
I love that there are different ages and skin colours, and the inclusion of dragons throughout. There is no doubt that these cards are thoughtfully conceived, beautifully executed, conscientious, and certainly more inclusive than RWS.
I absolutely love them, and gratitude and congratulations to the creator for such a lovely, meaning-rich art deck!

I’m a fan of Wyspell Tarot decks, and it was very excited to receive The Sacred Witch release. I was surprised though, because for the first time, I was not immediately drawn in by the artwork—it didn’t quite grab me the way some other decks have at first glance. However, I’ve found myself appreciating it more and more with use, and I really love the depth I get from reading with this deck – the imagery really shares a lot.

I am a professional Tarot reader, and the artwork actually provides a surprisingly intuitive reading experience. There’s a quiet depth to them that reveals more the longer you work with the cards.
The 400GSM card stock quality is good—not overly thick but durable enough for regular use and shuffling without concern. The cards have a smooth matte finish and glide easily while shuffling, and they fan out like a dream.
✨It is a Rider-Waite Smith (RWS) inspired deck, and the images reflect the meanings well with its own special take on each card.
The deck arrives in a beautiful hard sided box with a lift off lid and includes a 200 page guidebook that had both upright and reversal meanings, along with a lot of great additional information for beginners.
Overall, The Sacred Witch has become a reliable and enjoyable part of my practice. If the artwork doesn’t wow you right out of the gate, give it time—it grows on you, and I highly recommend it based on the intensity of the readings that can provide.

Getting back into using the tarot again. Tried these since I’ve never had a deck with images that were more aligned with the Rider-Waite deck. While I am feeling a connection to the deck, I find the coloring to be dark and harder to see unless I’m bright light. They definitely need the contrast turned up.
Apart from that I’ve issue, I have nothing but praise for this deck. It had good imagery and style. While they don’t follow the Raider-Waite deck images exactly, they follow the spirit and meaning.
The cards are thick. I did find that in shuffling them they can get occasional nicks on the sides, prob expected since I don’t shuffle them like playing cards as I don’t want them bent. They have a smooth matte finish and are easy to handle. They come in a nice box to store in and help them last.
The best bonus in this box set is the little guide book they included. It covers what the basic suits mean, meaning of generic numbers, and the meaning of specific numbers in each suit, the court (page, knight, queen and king) and the major arcana. Each of the cards gets a full page description and meaning, as well as including a dedicated page for inverse meanings. They also include many of the common lay outs and the description of each position.
This a budget friendly deck but it includes so much more than you’d find in the more expensive decks. I also purchased another deck that was a bit more expensive but it’s this once that I have a connection with. I can recommend this deck to beginners and the more experienced.

Sacred Witch Tarot is a stellar tarot deck, it’s witchy, simple, striking, dynamic, the best Wyspell deck in my opinion, this one feels like a cohesive energy, force, that reads razor sharply. It’s imagery doesn’t try and re-write tarot history it sticks to the symbolism but with it’s own shadowy but stylish flair. It’s very cheap and has a beautiful two-piece rigid box and very good smooth feeling easy to shuffle cardstock, it’s an all-round solid, stunning deck deserving of much more attention.

Wyspell Sacred Witch Tarot is a great affordable deck that follows the RWS meaning but with witchy and mythical illustrations. If you believe in crystals, herbology, and spirit animals, this desk also adds those elements to allow for in depth readings. The cards are on the thicker side, with a matte finish. They still shuffle well with riffle or overhand. I don’t really use the guidebook but it does offer the traditional meaning upright and reverse, as well as those reflected on the images of each card. I recommend to anyone looking for an affordable deck with cool illustrations. This deck is also beginner friendly.

Wonderful and affordable deck for witches or witchy creatures 🙂 the art is basic but has a lot of character and the color palette is excellent for that witchy vibe. Card stock is similar to HayHouse decks (like the Lightseers Tarot) but holds up well to shuffling. Guidebook is great, thus would be a wonderful starter deck but even for long time readers is had a nice voice. Impressive quality for an unbeatable price point.

This sacred witch tarot deck called to me and I had to order it. I like that the cards are printed on high quality card stock which makes them incredibly durable. However, the image quality is a bit blurry. It doesn’t negatively impact a reading but if you’re looking at this deck simply for the art, I would skip it. With that being said, I really enjoyed adding this deck to my collection and feel it was worth the price. The included guide book made it easy and fun to learn. I will continue to purchase from wyspell.

Well in this case it does, so many new Tarot decks come out with the art work concentrated on the Major Arcana & the Minor are just plain & bland, I bought two of these decks, one to put away in my collection of over 50 years…The other deck to use, I have to say this deck is the best ive seen in a long while, The art work on the Minor arcana is equally as good as the Major & each card is numbered & named (not court cards) which is a bonus for Novice & Cartomancer alike, This decks card stock is just the right thickness for easy shuffling. If your about to treat yourself to a new deck buy these you will love them.

Let me start by saying the quality of these cards is nice. They have a good balance between shufflability and sturdiness. They have a linen like finish so they aren’t too slippery. I could see this deck lasting a while with regular use. I am not sure how I feel about the artwork itself. This is just a personal preference. The subject matter and symbolism is perfect. The drawings themselves could be better. They are over shaded, which leads to a muddy look. It’s like I wish I could raise the brightness on the cards. Despite that, I feel like I will end up using this deck quite a bit. The more I flip through it, the more I appreciate it.
