A toalha tem textura aveludada; o baralho tem uma textura parecida com papelão, só que mais flexível, é bem durinho, não pode dobrar; apoio das pedras é de madeira, os dois livros falam de cada carta e são de muita ajuda para iniciantes, mostrando até os significados das cores presentes nos desenhos das cartas; a bolsinha do baralho é pano comum e a caixa é bem prática, pequena eu diria, no sentido de ser fácil de achar um lugar pra guardar. I have a couple dozen tarot/oracle decks already but I wanted a simple gold lined one that followed the RWS system/art. I was surprised at the quality of the tarot card holder; it’s sturdier/nicer than I expected. I like the nice black & gold design of the card holder; I can place my crystals & seashells there & it’s a really nice touch. I like to draw a card from my oracle decks as messages from my spirit guides for my tarot readings so this holder is great to hold my oracle cards, as well as any one to three card spreads.
The tarot cloth is nice quality too, better than I was expecting & the design isn’t too busy, it incorporates each suit, is the perfect size & doesn’t have pre-made layouts. It also makes a great altar cloth. I was looking for an everyday cloth, as my special tarot cloth is a 60 year old vintage Peter Max cloth so this is perfect. It’s hemmed nicely, no loose strings anywhere. Definitely better quality than I expected too!
The cards come in a box & also come with a nice cloth pouch. It isn’t velvet but it’s sturdy & protective to keep the cards in so you don’t have to use the box. What I really like about this set in particular, is the guidebook. It is great physical quality with color art. My only complaint about the guidebook is it’s a bit dark. If the font were a bit bigger, more white or bold, it’d make it easier to read. I really like that the guidebook indicates colors & central themes that we might not otherwise realize, when looking at the big picture. It gives an affirmation for each card, the colors that most represent the card & the symbolism. The guidebook has some quick reference pages & goes into more spreads you can do. It also has the elemental & chakras correspondence charts. I just wish they put those on the pages of each card description as well. I like to use this guidebook as a priority addendum to main book that details the meaning of each RWS card. I can use this guidebook as a reference with other decks that use the RWS system & have similar art. The guidebook is really well-done; it’s just hard to see the font. But I keep the guidebook out on the shelf with my bigger books because it’s such a great guidebook for all tarot following this system!
The art of the cards themselves are very much in keeping with the RWS system but updated & more diverse. I like being able to focus on the art of these cards– I notice more symbolism than I regularly do when working with a 1909 art deck. It’s a fresh perspective while still being similar in structure & color scheme with the symbolism of the colors. The card quality is also nice. They shuffle very nicely. I do a sideways overhand shuffle on all my decks, never a riffle & these are very easy cards to shuffle. They’re not fully matte but not fully glossy either? They’re not slippery to where they fly everywhere. They won’t get beat up easily from every-day shuffling either. I really like the gold lining. The art on the back is a nice design as well. I’m actually really in love with the simple yet beautiful back designs!
What’s also really great is the journal that comes with this kit. Now I have several tarot journals with several purposes, all going at one time. I’m very picky about my tarot journals. This journal is the same physical quality as the guidebook which is nice, especially considering the price. What I also really love about this journal is it gives me prompts all the way though the journal. It’s not big enough to go very in-depth with but you can use any of the spreads/prompts the journal gives & always record any longer details in a corresponding journal. This journal has a prompt or a spread on each page, with little spaces to either draw or put a sticker (stickers are sold separately but are perfect for journaling) & room to write a quick interpretation. It’s a very helpful journal to have if you’re on a spiritual growth journey. It gives really good promos & spread suggestions. It invites you to get more detailed in your readings.
All in all, even though I have several decks of high quality, I recommend everyone have this kit. It’s a great kit for a great cost. It’s great for beginners to advancing readers. I really enjoy being able to focus on the art symbolism as it’s laid out nicely in the guidebook. The tarot holder is a nice touch. The tarot cloth is very nice, even, hemmed nicely & beautiful. The journal is a lot of fun & has excellent prompts & spreads throughout the entirety of the journal.
I’m so happy with this set, I’m going to see what else Wyspell has to offer!

After purchasing 4-5 different Wyspell tarot decks over the past 10 months, I’ve become a big fan of their cards for a number of reasons (beautiful packaging, great card designs, quality card stock, and affordable pricing). Then I spotted their Tarot Kit and the price was so enticing, I ordered it as well, but didn’t get my hopes up. How good could a whole boxed set, that cost the same as most individual decks, be?
Well, it’s by Wyspell, so I shouldn’t have worried! First of all, the outer box is solid and something you’ll want to keep to use for storage and display of the items inside. It has a nice matte black finish with gold foil highlights of the designs and a magnetic closure. Packed in the box are a standard deck of 78 tarot cards with gold gilding on the edges and a pretty black and gold foil design on the back. The images follow the Rider Waite Smith format but the drawings are slightly different, not Pamela Colman Smith’s original artwork. Unless you’re really familiar with traditional tarot cards, you might not even notice that the artwork has minor changes. The colors are bold and vibrant. The cards come in a tuck box but you also get a linen drawstring bag to carry/store them.
I’ve been looking for a nice cloth to use when doing readings, and have purchased scarves and cloth napkins, but nothing was quite right. This box set comes with a large square black cloth with a velvety feel that’s just perfect! The design matches the box and journal cover, and features the symbols of the four suits (swords, cups, wands and pentacles). It’s about 22″ x 22″. There’s also a small wooden stand, painted black with gold, where you can stand up 3 cards on your altar or during a reading. Good quality – it doesn’t feel cheap.
And finally in the box are two books: a tarot journal and an amazing 200-page guidebook. The journal is better than most I’ve seen. Instead of just having the same layout on every page for you to record what card you pulled and how you interpreted it, it’s more of a workbook to help you learn how to read tarot. There are MANY suggested spreads relating to career, love, decision making, even simple daily pulls. There are sample questions to ask, prompts to guide you as you read your cards, and even blank pages for your own notes. Best journal I’ve seen – I almost don’t want to write in it!
Finally, the guidebook. Wow! Most decks come with a “little white book” that gives you a few keywords and a brief meaning. Not this gift set! The book is about 4″ x 6″ with 200 pages. Each card gets a 2-page spread, starting with an affirmation, then the meanings of the colors on the card. The symbols are explained in detail, even pointing out features in the background that you might not have noticed. Then there are keywords and extended meanings for love, career, and finances. Elsewhere in the book are a quick-reference guide for each suit, sample spreads, and so much other info. My only complaint is that the pages are black and the white font is small – hard to read unless I’m under a bright light and have my reading glasses on!! If Wyspell ever decides to enlarge this booklet into a regular book, with white pages and black writing, I’d buy it in a heartbeat! It’s an excellent resource.
Final thoughts – I love that this kit has such a cohesive overall look. The box, cloth, and journal all have the same design, everything is black and gold, and the card backs match the design on the guidebook cover. This would make an AMAZING gift for a tarot newbie or even an experienced reader. And again, for the price paid, it’s an awesome value.
