Loved the demonstration and workbook of the tangles. Easy to understand and do.

This was given to a friend that had a knee replacement and needed a diversion to the long haul healing process. She judged herself at not being artistic and this process gave her freedom to create from a deep design. She loved it and called it inner meditation

For me this book is a combination of all the things I appreciate in this type of publication… a little background and history, some instruction with workbook-style pages so I can just grab a Micron and get down to tangling, along with a bunch of ideas that inspire me to use the patterns and projects right away. I had a couple of greeting cards to mail sitting on my desk when the book came and I will tell you they didn’t leave my mailbox plain and boring. There must be a million different ways to interpret the contents of this book. I so appreciate the thoughtful attention to detail and the gracious sharing of beautiful examples. The possibilities are endless!

This book focuses on one aspect of Zentangle, which is the small Dingbatz frames. However, for those readers who are new to Zentangle, there is instruction on the basic method as well. I have been practicing Zentangle since 2011, and I still learned new things from this book. Mr. Crimmins explores the history of Dingbats (distinct from Dingbatz) a bit, and explains how this Zentangle version compares to the traditional version. I appreciate that background. The book provides room for practicing patterns, which in my case, I probably would not use as I am familiar with most of the patterns presented, and I prefer to scribble away in a separate sketchbook, so in that respect, I do utilize the practice sections. The author’s choice of patterns is unique among the images of Dingbatz I have seen in the past, so he brings a fresh perspective to this technique. He also has expanded the original concept of Dingbatz to include partial frames which makes this form even more versatile. However, where the book really shines for me is the abundance of interesting projects the author suggests. Ten minutes after I got the book, I had my pens and pencils out and was digging right in! Love this book!

I am a Certified Zentangle teacher . A question i am often asked is … NOW WHAT? People are flummoxed as to how to use what they create.
This book takes Zentangle to another level, and suggests applications. That being said, the author has included enough info about the Zentangle method that brand newbies can just jump in.
I love the workshop aspect of the book as i can just grab a pen and the book and hit the road . It offers much to learn and room to practice!

January is the perfect time for a new hobby or to revisit an old one. Of the three Zentangle books I own this is by far my favorite. It is easy to read and carry along. It would be a great source if one was teaching a class. I have recently purchased another copy to give as a gift for my grandson who will soon be 14.

OMG…I bought this for my young niece as she loves zentangles, but I wasn’t sure what I would be getting as I ordered it before publication.
Let me say that this book is truly awesome. It’s very professional, very instructive and a whole lot of fun. I liked it so much that I just ordered two more…one for me and another for some other kids who I think might enjoy it. I can’t imagine how other books could be better.
So glad I stumbled upon this gem. It’s worth every penny.

If you’ve never tangled before, the author, Brian Crimmins, CZT®, guides you easily into the practice of Zentangle ® with clear instructions and examples. There is practice space right in the book for playing with new tangles and ideas. Unwrap the book, read a bit, grab a pencil or pen and GO! If you’re been tangling for a while, the book is full of inspiration to keep you learning and discovering. If you are a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher®) this book provides many practical and fun ideas to incorporate into your Zentangle classes. Tanglers, card makers, folks who journal, those looking for ways to personalize books, envelopes, gift tags, nametags (you get the idea) will all find something here to learn, enjoy and incorporate into their Zentangle journey!

Con este libro he aprendido a hacer del zentangle un elemento decorativo precioso para diversos trabajos manuales.

I was blown away. I couldn’t believe the intricate detail and instruction. I felt like a pro right away! It’s just amazing how creative you can get. I definitely feel this has taken my zentangles to the next level. The book is also gorgeous. It motivates me to take my designs even further! I had always stayed inside the box (literally) but here the author shows you how to go outside the lines and beyond. I also love the Tangle Directory, I’ll be using that for inspiration for years to come. Love this book!

This book is really good. Lots of instructions, suggestions, and practice areas. It’s worth reading through, it gives outlines for the Zentangle process itself before moving on to the Dingbatz where there are plenty of examples for you to browse through and try along side in the book if you want too. There are many ideas for using the Dingbatz too and there is also a Facebook group too that you can join to share your results with! I definitely recommend buying this book, its a great read and worth the price. Many thanks Brian!
