The tea is delicious and I’ve ordered it several times. Unfortunately my latest order was disappointing. 16 of the 20 teabags had cuts in the bags. The teabags are unusable. I’ll use the loose tea in a tea ball but I purchase the tea bags so that I don’t have to use the tea ball. Just disappointing.

I’ve been looking for an alternative to energy drinks, and my favorite ones tend to be tea flavored/based. I stumbled on this product and decided to give it a shot, and the pomegranate mojito sounded HEAVENLY. On my first taste, I steeped it and then put it over ice, and it was…..underwhelming. I felt like the taste just wasn’t there, and the ice watered it down significantly. After about a week of being on energy drinks again, I gave it another chance. This time I drank it hot and added a teaspoon on sugar and WOW. This is more like it!! The taste was exactly what I was looking for, and I think tampering my expectations that this is not a mango green tea Celsius, but a home made cup of tea with an extra kick, is saving me so much money! I love how this makes me feel, its very energizing in the same way my favorite drinks are, and I like the slightly diminished caffeine amount more than a 200mg can. I’m glad I gave this another chance and now I want to try all the other flavors

These are phenomenal. I was drinking least 2 Red Bull Zero’s a day and honestly felt crappy all the time. I switched to these and they are everything I needed and more! They give me solid energy and clarity with absolutely no crash. The flavor is great and they are so smooth. For 75¢ per tea bag, these are a STEAL!

Original post, 2 stars – I have been a long time consumer of Hi Caf Teas by Republic of Tea. I decided to try Zest because they offer flavors Hi Caf does not. Hi Caf sells 50 tea bags for about the same price as 20 tea bags from Zest, but I figured adding some variety to my morning tea would be worth it. I was excited to order the Spicy Marsala Chai, as chai tea is one of my absolute favorites. As soon as I opened the pouch I noticed that the tea had a very subtle aroma, which is unchataristic of a good chai. I steeped the tea as instructed, using 8 oz of water which I consider a typical amount for any tea. Once I tasted it I was able to conclude that it didn’t smell like much because it doesn’t taste like much. It was a very watered down version of the spicy, bold, earthiness that you expect from a chai tea. This is not a tea I would use 2 tea bags for a stronger taste due to the caffeine, nor should I have to. I am giving it 2 stars because the caffeine did deliver and the taste, although it was watered down, was not gross. Overall I am disappointed in it and would be hesitant to try other flavors from Zest since they could not deliver anything close to a flavor as classic as spicy chai.
Update – Zest tea responded to my review by offering to send me a sample pack of their other flavors. This included Apple Cinnamon, Earl Grey, Blue Lady, and Mojito Mint. Extra star just for the customer service. As far as the other flavors go:
Apple cinnamon was yet another weak, watered down flavor. Not gross but not worth buying in my opinion.
Earl grey was good but didn’t remind me of a traditional earl grey… it actually strangely reminded me of Fruity Pebbles. But hey no complaints here because I love that cereal.
Blue lady was my favorite. Light, a little fruity and super aromatic. Super good.
Mojito mint definitely delivered on the mint flavor and was perfectly fine but I didn’t get any lime-y notes like you might imagine since it suggests “mojito.”
All in all I’ve updated the review to 4 stars. I’d say steer clear of the chai and apple cinnamon flavors but other than that they were tasty and most definitely deliver on the clean energy that you should expect from a highly caffeinated tea.

I’m blown away by this tea! I was looking for a serious pick-me-up without the jitters or crash I get from coffee, and this is it.
The Energy level is fantastic. It’s a strong, clean, and focused energy that lasts for hours, making my mornings and afternoon slumps so much more productive.
What really surprised me was the Smoothness. For a high-caffeine tea, I was expecting some bitterness, but the Blue Lady flavor is absolutely delicious and not bitter at all. It’s strong in its effect but very smooth to drink.
This has become my new daily driver. When it comes to Value for money, it’s a 10/10 for me. Highly recommend!

During the last 3 years I became hooked on coffee, ending up grinders, subscriptions, higher prices, a 24 hr day of sipping black coffee habit and decided to give tea a try again. I laughed to myself thinking, I’ll never wake up again, how could tea beat strong black coffee? I received this bag yesterday, and as I ripped open my expensive light little bag of tea bags, I thought surely, I got dooped by false claims, I know tea, well apparently I don’t! I brewed my first tea bag, in 8 oz of water, in a glass jar that goes with me everywhere all day. Tasted great, from the start I thought this will be different, something about it. Let me tell you, not only did I wake up, I was super annoying I’m sure, get ready since your family or friends will be surprised! Even my little doggies were confused with the whirlwind of activity, worked through my list, completed big projects and had energy left to look at the stars till late. Wow, I want that same energy every day, who doesn’t?? I ended up adding more water, 16 oz in total. NO jitters, or afternoon coffee crash, stayed sharp for 10 hrs. I was overwhelmed with my own list and needed to find that one tiny extra bit of energy to do it and found it? How about that! After trying this tea, I’ve seriously decided to never drink highly caffeinated drinks again.. at least for a while. First of all, I know caffeine doesn’t exactly work WITH our bodies to help give us organic and lasting energy, and it can either give you headaches or rebound headaches. There are many reasons why people love caffeine but there are also reasons why it drains our minds and bodies… This caffeinated tea made me so sleepy that I couldn’t keep my eyes open!
My health situation is not typical, but I’m always looking for natural ways to enhance my cognition, energy, and general wellbeing.
I deal with chronic fatigue and chronic pain, and caffeine is actually very counterintuitive in terms of addressing those important issues. But I chose to ignore that glaring fact this time.
When I saw this Blue Lady Energy Tea by Zest Tea, I was enticed. I went back to look at it a few times before taking the leap.
I was hopeful, and I was also being lazy by imagining that more caffeine would be somehow helpful to me. I love tea and herbal tea in particular, so I thought that at the least, I’d enjoy the taste and experience of drinking this one.
I opened the bag.. and whoosh. This indescribably rich, super sweet, fruity scent filled my nostrils and my eyes widened immediately. Whoa. This tea smells incredible and full of zest. As i continued inhaling the potent aroma with my nose in the bag, I began to feel a little lightheaded and actually got a headache.
This tea is extreeeemely aromatic and sweet, which made me a bit uncomfortable, because I tend to look for the most natural products I can. And this intense scent didn’t seem all that natural to me, despite the fact that there are actually natural ingredients in here.
I sometimes get specific headaches from strong smells, like chemical perfumes or cleaning products. This tea definitely smelled great, and mouth watering, but it was a little too great in my opinion. Since I’ve begun cutting down on sugar more and more, I really notice the super sweet things.
Although it may sound weird, this tea made me super drowsy and sleepy. I’m not just blaming the tea, I think it’s just due to the high caffeine content. The caffeine just didn’t jibe well with my system, which has happened before.
It did taste good, although once again it almost tasted too good to be true. I don’t know what all of the “natural flavors” consist of, but wow it packs a punch.
I believe most people will enjoy this tea, but the thing that kept bugging me was the glue. There is a small oval shaped spot of glue that attaches the square paper on the end of the string to the actual teabag.
All the teabags are loose in the larger, resealable blue bag. So it makes sense to not get the strings all tangled up. But it also means I’m drinking a small smount of adhesive… and the paper part easily falls into my mug… which has more gluey stuff on it. It’s not like a big gluey clump or anything big. I think most people wouldn’t care too much about it.
But because of my health issues, I really don’t care for ingesting even small amounts of weird, synthetic ingredients like glue. It’s probably not going to harm me too much, but I just can’t help being very conscious about it every time I sip the tea or detach the paper from the bag.
I can SEE the subtle oval glue marks.
If you’re looking for a caffeine high without having to drink coffee, and you like sweet, bold tasting teas, this one is definitely all that. The floral, super fruity, lively smell is so intoxicating that it gave me a headache, and the taste is definitely delicious, but it put me to sleep in an uncomfortable way. My body just felt weird from drinking it.
So you can see why it wasn’t the best choice for me. But it may work fine for you. It could become your new favorite tea, although I generally prefer the much cheaper bulk tea leaves.
Whatever you decide, if you do get this, I still hope you enjoy it. ♡
Update: I’ve grown to like this tea. Its fragrance and strong floral taste is hard to avoid. Early in the day, when I lack energy, I usually avoid too much caffeine simply because a crash is too much for me.. but I’ve gotten used to this tea and its zippinessn and I don’t mind it anymore. I take L-theanine and Ashwagandha and other very grounding supplements that work synergistically with this delicious tea.

As the title states, and as other customers have experienced, I found small pebbles in the tea. Bit down on them after drinking the tea wondering what they hell I was chewing on. It was the only thing I had drank and had not eaten anything. This wasn’t the only issue with this tea, it had a horrible taste to it and the mint was pretty intense as well. There was no pomegranate or lime taste to it either. Those are two tastes that should stand out but didn’t. I couldn’t feel the caffeine either so it was really weak. I bought this for $18.98 and it is totally not worth it.
I also purchased the Cinnamon Apple Black Tea, and while it smells amazing it is far from tasting like that. I could hardly taste the apple flavor and the cinnamon actually tasted like old bark and not cinnamon. I couldn’t make it half way through the cup before I had to pour it our. I have a 15 year old box of Celestrial Cinnamon Apple Spice tea that blows this out of the water.
Please avoid these products as much as possible.
